This project explores how economy-class aircraft seating can be redesigned through circular economy principles and modular system thinking.
Rather than focusing only on passenger comfort, the project investigates how rapid maintenance, simplified disassembly, and mono-material strategies could reduce waste and improve operational efficiency within short-haul aviation.
The final concept proposes a modular seating system with replaceable soft layers, quick-release mechanisms, and improved material recovery pathways to support a more sustainable aviation lifecycle.
